Meal Plan
Posted by Angela on October 15, 2021 at 1:39 pmGood morning everyone and Happy Friday,
I have joined the Mas Vida group and am very excited to start, however I have a question regarding the meal plan. Do we eat the same things for one week and change the following week to the second meal plan?
thanks in advance.

Hi Angela!
Yes, that is correct. The way the programs are designed is that you usually follow the prescribed week’s meal plan for the entire week before moving to the next.

Hello,
I work out at 4am and literally have to wake up and go straight to working out so I do not have time for pre-workout anything. Is it counter productive if I still have the protein shake after the workout and then about an hour later I have the breakfast?
-
My schedule is similar to yours and I also cannot get anything down prior to workout. What I do is drink a preworkout with bcaa prior to my workout to prevent to lose muscle mass. If you cannot do pre workout for whatever reason try to eat a piece of fruit, some grapes or so, that can help give you some energy. But you can most definitely drink the protein shake right after workout and then eat breakfast a bit later.

As with Cornelia, on the days I workout early am because of work, I take my pre-workout and drink bcaas during my workout. Afterwards i drink my post workout shake, and breakfast soon follows. I work in healthcare so it’s hard for me to eat breakfast an hour after my protein shakenince I am at work. Hope this helps.

@KaLinda, follow up question to Angela’s…for Elevate 1 the meal plan has a post workout item and some weeks it says it can be pre-workout and others don’t say that. If I workout first thing in the morning, do I have the “post” option beforehand? Thanks! Lisa
-
Hey Lisa! Yes, you can have your protein shake about 30 minutes before you workout if it’s just simple, like 1 scoop of protein, ice, and whatever base you’re using (maybe a small amount of berries or something). You can then have your breakfast as your “post-workout” fuel.
-
I agree with KaLinda, you sure can have that shakey shake after your workout session.
Also, keep in mind Angela these are suggestions, so if you’re not able to go exactly as the plan suggests you can totally make small adjustments here and there to make it work for your current situation. We have different times of the day we workout so, we just have to adjust accordingly.
Hope you’re crushing it this week lady.

Hello again, I have a question. What is TVP? (it’s in the Meal Plan 1 for Dinner) 1/ 4 cup TVP.
thank you in advance.

Hi Angela,
TVP is “textured vegetable protein.” It’s a soy product that comes packaged as little granules. You usually just add hot water to them to rehydrate them, so they are quite easy to prepare. When I did this program, I found mine at a store called Natural Grocers. I believe it was the Bob Mill’s brand.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions. 🙂
